01 / The story
Reliability is a design decision.
This build started with a destination, not a parts catalog: cross two mountain passes, idle in summer traffic, and still feel special when the road finally opens. Every change had to support that mission or earn its weight some other way.
Cooling, brakes, bushings, and service access came before visible modifications. The result keeps its original silhouette and cabin rhythm while quietly removing the reasons an old grand tourer might stay home.
Phase one — baseline
Compression, cooling pressure, charging load, and chassis measurements were documented before the first upgrade.
Phase two — confidence
Fresh cooling hardware, progressive suspension, period-size tires, and brake service built a reliable foundation.
Phase three — distance
Cabin heat control, quiet storage, lighting, and a complete roadside kit made the car ready for consecutive long days.
